Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan — The Saskatchewan Association of Automotive Repairers (SAAR) hosted its members for its annual Spring Forum in Moose Jaw last week, where more than 100 attendees experienced a full day of speaker presentations and networking–as well as a little bit of time at the venue’s rooftop mineral pools, of course.
Hosted at the Temple Gardens Hotel and Spa, the day kicked off with a bright and early breakfast at 7 a.m. before keynote speaker Jolene Watson took the stage.
Other speakers at the event included Sharon Ashley of Bodyshop Connect, who detailed some cool new features on the platform, including Parts Connect; Craig Alvaro of 3M discussed the company’s new RepairStack technology; Darren Gasper of Sunwest School Division spoke on apprenticeship and industry recruitment; Paul Carter, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business covered the ins-and-outs of being a CFIB member; CARSTAR’s Christie Hall educated the audience on working with four generations of employees (i.e., Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z); and Scott Kucharyshen, Sask Polytech, who gave some promising news on industry recruitment levels in the province.
The speaking portion of the event closed with an interview with Raj Kavia, conducted by Don Pagoda.
