Berthierville, Quebec — Those looking for advice on legal recourse will be interested in the Mouvement Carrossiers Quebec (MCQ) event this weekend.
This Saturday at 10 a.m., M. Estelle Savoie-Dufresne, a lawyer dedicated to consumer class actions, will deliver a presentation on factors causing financial loss—specifically in the areas of insurance relations and management of the industry.
Savoie-Dufresne is the same lawyer that represented Stephane Lachance, an estimator who had his license revoked after Intact Insurance alleged he had improperly used Groupement des assureurs automobiles (GAA) documents to prove his skills. The insurer claimed Lachance had failed to enter a certificate qualification number on an estimate he had allegedly helped construct for a client in preparation for small claims court.
The presentation will occur just before MCQ’s annual meeting of members, to be held at 1 p.m. at the Days Inn in Berthierville.
“M. Savoie-Dufresne will give us a presentation and answer our questions on possible remedies for civil and commercial damages against automobile insurance companies with regard to their practices vis-à-vis the collision centres,” wrote Jacques Genereux, president of the MCQ. “I am convinced that this presentation will be of great interest to you. Being present is your best chance to be heard!”
The AGM will continue following Savoie-Dufresne’s presentation, kicking off at 1 p.m.
