Cary, North Carolina — December 4, 2016 — LORD Corporation has announced enhancements to its Fusor 800DTM/803DTM Direct-to-Metal Adhesive Sealant and Fusor High-Definition Seam Sealers.
A statement from LORD says both lines now offer 25 percent longer shelf life and improved skin time of 15-minutes to 45-minutes. Fusor DTM and HD products will still carry the same OEM approvals and meet the same specifications as in the past. Fusor HD seam sealer has also been upgraded to offer a more robust texture.
According to Kevin Creegan, LORD Corporation Sales Manager, US and Canada, the “new and improved” versions of all six part numbers, for the Fusor DTM and HD product lines, will be introduced in a “rolling change” that began in November 2016 and will be completed by the end of the year.
“The new features and improvements we have made to the Fusor DTM and HD product lines will make these ’Best-in-Class’ products even more beneficial for our customers,” Creegan said. “The extended shelf lives offered by the new DTM and HD product enhancements provide the longest shelf life of a single-component sealer in the industry.”
Fusor HD cartridges have been redesigned to feature a spray-gun icon to ensure spray-only application. The redesigned Fusor DTM has a spray-gun icon with a red line drawn through the icon to indicate that the cartridge is not used as a spray-gun.
LORD Corporation says its Fusor 800DTM/803DTM Direct-to-Metal Adhesive/Sealant duplicates a factory appearance on standing seams, cosmetic seams, truck-bed seams, brushed seams and other applications where a non-sag, cosmetic seam sealer is required. The single-component formulation provides resistance to UV exposure and holds brush marks without die-back and weld-through with no burn-back.
The company says its Fusor High-Definition Seam Sealers duplicate factory-applied textured seams and provide an extremely flexible, non-yellowing seal with no shrinkage, cracking or sagging. It adheres to bare or primed surfaces and can be used for duplicating OEM spray-applied seam sealers and surface coatings. The seam sealers are UV resistant and offer corrosion protection. The formula utilizes low VOCs and contains no solvents or isocyanates, thus reducing its environmental impact.
