Edmonton, Alberta — An Edmonton repair shop saved the day after a catalytic converter was stolen from a local senior centre’s shuttle bus.
In January, the catalytic converter was stolen from Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre’s shuttle bus and, after the incident created a buzz in the community, Jasper Auto Parts stepped in and offered to repair the normally $3,000 fix free-of-charge.
“Anytime you can help people in need, that’s what we should do,” Morriss Corbiere with Jasper Auto Parts told Global News.
When the bus was returned to the centre, the residents were thrilled.
“It’s just wonderful,” said one resident. “It means everything to us because we can go on our outings now.”
“Our residents are so excited to have the bus back,” said site manager Crystal De Jong. “They look forward to going on those visits. It gives them such quality of life, so it’s important to us.”
Jasper Auto Parts is a full-service auto recycler in South Edmonton, Alberta and has been in business since 1946.
