Toronto, Ontario — The government has appointed nine members of the new COVID-19 vaccine panel and Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar, a Canadian auto parts manufacturer, has been chosen as one of the nine panellists.
“Distributing the COVID-19 vaccine in Ontario is one of the most important things we will do as a province, I am honoured to be asked to play a role in that,” said Hasenfratz in a statement. “Ensuring everyone is vaccinated as efficiently and effectively as possible is key to controlling this pandemic and restoring some semblance of normalcy in our lives; it is critical that every Ontarian is engaged and part of that process.”
The panel will be headed by the retired chief of national defense staff Gen. Rick Hillier will oversee the distribution of the vaccine when available for Canadians.
According to the provincial health minister, Christine Elliott says it will be up to the panel to ensure effective and ethical delivery of a vaccine.
Key tasks of the panel will include delivery, logistics, and administration, clinical guidance as well as public education and outreach.
