Kenora, Ontario — The sun was out, the grill was hot and the crew at CARSTAR Kenora had their walking shoes on, raising $3,298 during this year’s Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History.
“I truly value the employees who helped make this event happen and the loyal customers and community members who showed up and showed out,” said CARSTAR Kenora owner Peter Scheibler.
“I’ve been in the industry for nearly thirty years and fully believe in the CARSTAR promise of supporting the communities that we live and work in. I couldn’t be prouder to do exactly that for our customers!”
Thanks in part to the contribution of the Kenora team, CARSTAR as a whole managed to raise more than $48,000 for Cystic Fibrosis, far exceeding the company’s goal of $40,000.
Philanthropy is a core value of CARSTAR Kenora, according to the company’s press release, as Scheibler was honoured with the Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce (KDCC) Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2020 for his community engagement.
The shop even hosted a customer appreciation barbecue on the Friday preceding the Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History, which took place on May 28.
