Juvenile Joyride: Florida children steal mom’s car and drive 320 km

Alachua, Florida – Thursday night, a 10-year-old boy and his 11-year-old sister were pulled over by police in Alachua, Florida after having driven their mother’s stolen car more than 200 miles away from their home in North Port.

Florida officers pulled over the white sedan that had been reported as stolen earlier that evening on Interstate 75 just before 4 a.m. and were surprised to see the children exiting the vehicle unaccompanied.

The 10-year-old boy was in the driver’s seat with his 11-year-old sister sitting shotgun. The siblings had reportedly taken the vehicle as retaliation after their mother confiscated their electronics due to using them “inappropriately.”

Once contacted by police, the children’s mother drove three hours to pick them up and reportedly is not pressing charges over the theft, delinquent driving, and driving without a license.

Kids these days.
