Toronto, Ontario — June 10, 2019 — Jerry’s Auto Body Shop celebrated 50 years of providing service to the Beamsville community at an event hosted at their shop at the end of May.
Opening in 1969, Jerry Gerritsen ran the shop for more than 40 years before passing it over to his son Alan. To celebrate 50 years in business, the team threw a celebration with a car show and local food vendors to supply the crowds that came to visit.
“It was a good day. Lots of people and great weather,” said Jon. “We had a local company here called Country Boys, they had a food truck and they came in and supplied the food for everyone.”
Jon has been working for Jerry’s Auto Shop for more than 16 years and claims that the shop has lasted so long because of the dedication of the owners.
“They’re great owners and they do good work,” Jon told Collision Repair Mag. “They always look out for the best for their customers.”
The event lasted all day and the turnout was much higher than expected, with nearly 125 visitors staying to celebrate the shop’s big milestone.
“Customers keep coming back,” said Jon. “It means a lot for the community. To be able to say that a small town shop can survive fifty years in business.”
Jon insists that it’s the support of the community assists in the survival of Jerry’s Autobody shop for half a century.
“There’s about four or five autobody shops within a 15 kilometre radius,” Jon told Collision Repair. “But we have our regular customers that insist that they come here, that’s why we keep busy.”
