Toronto, Ontario – If 3M wasn’t a household name before the COVID-19 pandemic, they sure are now. The N95 respirator has become a symbol of 2020 and as a result, the company is being recognized as “Supplier of the Year” by Supply Chain Drive.
One of, if not the largest producer of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in the world, 3M has shown the ability to tackle challenges in stride and adjust to the needs of the public.
The company is currently on track to deliver two billion N95 respirators worldwide by the end of the year and is continuing to expand operations in order to meet the continued demand for PPE.
“3M is making more respirators than ever before,” said a spokesperson from 3M.
As well, 3M’s Aberdeen, South Dakota plant was given a new 120,000 sq.-ft. expansion to its pre-existing 330,000 sq.-ft. facility and is equipped with more manufacturing lines and automated equipment.
3M is hoping to bring N95 production in the U.S. up to 95 million per month by the end of the year.
