Toronto, Ontario — Richard Bannister, the founder of RS Finishing Systems, passed away last Friday, August 13 with family by his side after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Richard (Dick) Bannister was a well-known face in the industry, having come from Spraybake UK to Canada in 1986 and launching the Aurora, Ontario-based RS Finishing Systems in 1992 specializing in automotive equipment and Spray Paint booths.
Richard Bannister was a fierce advocate for quality repairs and proper training in the collision repair industry. A wealth of knowledge–especially in the areas of automotive refinishing–Richards on-site visits were always appreciated by customers, and his clients knew they were dealing with one of the most passionate and knowledgeable in the business.
Richard will be deeply missed by his wife, Sandra; his children, Matthew (Valerie), Louise (Stewart) and Edward (Karen); and grandchildren Isabelle, Olivia, Logan and Chelsea.
As an expression of sympathy, the Bannister family says memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of York Region.
