Las Vegas, Nevada — October 16, 2013 — I-CAR is offering NACE attendees three technical presentations as an outgrowth of its new “Repairability Technical Support†initiative to improve industry access to technical repair knowledge, address gaps in repair procedures and enhance industry technical communication with OEMs.
Jason Bartanen, I-CAR Director of Industry Technical Relations, and Jamie Boettcher, Instructional Designer and Trainer, will lead the three presentations collectively. These sessions will be valuable to collision repair professionals operating in today’s industry, including repairers, insurers and manufacturers alike.
Two of the sessions will be offered free to all attendees on the show floor, while the third requires prior paid registration.

Accessibility to technical knowledge is required to perform complete and safe repairs in today’s ever- evolving collision repair landscape. During this presentation, attendees will receive information on the importance of OEM repair procedures, how to access this information and the various resources available when accessing them.

Vehicle manufacturers continue to use a growing number of advanced materials that contribute to vehicle safety, reduced vehicle structure weight and improved fuel efficiency. This session will explain how collision repair professionals can prepare for the challenges that these new materials and safety systems present, including information on high-strength steels and composites.
• Advanced Joining Methods–Understanding OEM Procedures and Repair Processes

Up-to-date knowledge on new vehicle designs is critical as repair procedures from previous generation vehicle models do not necessarily apply to current models. This presentation will deliver important repair information on advanced joining technologies, which ones to use in different situations and how to replace parts following OEM recommendations.
