Toronto, Ontario –– With this year coming to a close Make-A-Wish and CSN Collision Centres are partnering up for a week-long auction to raise money for children with critical illnesses.
Due to the pandemic, more than 420 children with critical illnesses have seen their wishes get postponed, and CSN, in partnership with Make-A-Wish, are stepping up to help.
The Hope for the Holidays online auction, kicking off on Dec. 3, 2020, will feature more than 170 incredible prizes generously donated by various Make-A-Wish chapters, their partners, CSN locations across Canada and their corporate partners and vendor suppliers.
“We know how important hope is for Make-A-Wish kids and this year has been challenging for everyone, but especially for charities. As soon as we heard that over 430 wishes in Canada have been delayed, we knew we wanted to come together to fulfill as many wishes as we can. The cause Make-A-Wish stands for is something really important to CSN, our collision centres, and our brand ambassador, James Hinchcliffe, so to collaborate and help raise funds for children with critical illnesses is something we’re thrilled to be able to do going into the holidays.” said Ashley Thorpe, Director of Marketing and Communications, CSN Collision Centres.
Kicking off live on December 3, 2020, at 8 p.m. EST, the Hope for the Holidays online auction can be found at www.hopefortheholidays.ca, where CSN brand ambassador, IndyCar driver and Oakville, Ontario native James Hinchcliffe will serve as the host of the online event.
As a veteran IndyCar driver with more than 15 podium finishes and six wins on the IndyCar circuit, Hinchcliffe has been CSN’s brand ambassador since 2017.
“Make-A-Wish has a special place in my heart,” says Hinchcliffe. “Whenever there is a chance to do something to support Make-A-Wish kids and bring them hope, I am first in line. This year has been tough on everyone, but for kids whose wishes have been postponed, they need our support and deserve to have their spirits lifted going into the holidays.”
Since CSN’s initial alliance with chosen charity, Make-A-Wish in 2011, the relationship between the two organizations has shown positive growth for each respectively.
“Since 2011, CSN Collision Centres has raised close to $450,000 to support our mission,” says Chris Pon, Make-A-Wish Canada’s VP, National Corporate Alliances. “Innovation has been at the core of their fundraising efforts for Make-A-Wish. The national virtual auction is another shining example of how CSN, their 200 locations, vendors, and suppliers, are committed to ensuring that life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses will continue in the communities they serve across Canada during these extraordinary times. Thanks again to CSN for giving our wish kids, and their families, hope and peace of mind when they need it most!”
