Toronto, Ontario — Honda has developed an all-new architectural design for the 2021 Acura TLX, according to Jeremy Lucas, Honda’s body design’s principal design engineer.
The 2021 Acura TLX’s new architecture is focused on rigidity to support the suspension, however, it is flexible enough to work for all of the different powertrains, reported Repairer Driven News.
This is the first time the TL and TLX did not have similarities with other Acuras, Lucas said. He says this was the way the automaker could meet performance targets for the new vehicle.
The new model has a lower concentration of high-strength steel, compared to the 2015-2020 TLXs, as well as a new structural elements to improve crash-ability.
