Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Skills Competences Canada (SCC) and the Government of Saskatchewan have proclaimed this week as Skilled Trade and Technology Week, launching a series of events promoting the skilled trades and technology sectors to youth, career seekers and the general Canadian public.
According to the SCC, this is a week of “activities highlighting skilled trade and technology careers are being held across Canada by Skills/Competences Canada’s Member Organizations to promote awareness of these great careers!”
Skills Competences Canada will host the Official Launch of NSTTW at Red River College (Notre Dame Campus) in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Meanwhile, Skills Canada Saskatchewan will host the Skills for Success Forum on November 3, where educators and employers will discuss the skills needed to succeed in the workplace.
This follows a prior announcement on Oct. 20, with the Canadian government announcing an investment of $53 million to create over 4,000 inclusive apprenticeship positions in Canadian Red Seal certified trades.
This year’s National Skilled Trade and Technology Week will be held from Oct. 30 to Nov. 5, 2022.
