Toronto, Ontario — May 8, 2016 — The Automotive Recyclers of Canada (ARC) and Scout Environmental have extended the application deadline for the Grants in Gear funding program. Non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs and municipal/governmental bodies now have until June 12, 2016 to apply for funding for project ideas that seek tangible results in emissions reductions or pollution prevention in the transportation sector or excellence in automotive recycling or reuse techniques.
To date, Grants in Gear has funded eight organizations across Canada working to achieve measurable, positive impact for the environment through their winning ideas. Eligible organizations of all sizes who seek to make a positive environmental impact on the automotive industry are welcome to apply. This year, ARC will disburse up to four grants worth a maximum of $25,000 each with one grant being offered as an optional legacy grant. This will allow previous winners to apply for additional funding to increase the capacity of their existing program.
