Toronto, Ontario — Ed Mondragon, a property and casualty (P&C) claims consultant in State Farm’s Consulting Services department, joined CIECA’s board of trustees effective immediately.
In his new role, Mondragon will support CIECA’s mission to develop and promote electronic data integration standards.
“I have a passion for improvements that benefit customers and employee experiences,” said Mondragon. “As a CIECA board member, I am excited about networking with other industry professionals and carrying on CEICA’s tradition of developing and promoting electronic communication standards that allow the collision industry to be more efficient.”
A State Farm representative has been involved on the CIECA board of Trustees since the organization’s inception in 1994. This is Mondragon’s first opportunity to sit on an industry board. He has attended and participated in CIECA meetings over his career and said he is looking forward to helping CIECA fulfill its mission and vision.
Mondragon joined State Farm in 1994 as a physical damage appraiser and later became a claims representative/adjuster. He has more than 20 years of leadership experience in physical damage appraisals, auto physical damage claims handling, product liability claims investigations, subrogation, process improvement, engineering, and total loss claims.
He was named P&C claims consultant in 2019. In his current position, Mondragon oversees the development, maintenance, and interpretation of claims handling guidelines and policies, which support and fulfill State Farm’s commitment to its policyholders. Over his career, he has earned his CPCU and I-CAR Platinum Level 3 Designations.
“I’m looking forward to getting involved with CIECA,” said Mondragon. “I was a youth athletics coach for over 20 years while my children were growing up. Having kids beyond their youth sporting years has now afforded me with the opportunity to volunteer and give time to the industry.”
