Victoria, British Columbia — The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) disappointed plenty of drivers in the last two years as the crown insurer rejected dozens of creative personalized plates submitted by B.C. drivers.
A list obtained by CTV News details the rejects–some of which are shot down simply because they’ve been claimed; others deemed too inappropriate and some just too wacky to comprehend. Other reasons ICBC may reject a personal plate request include religious or political connotations, registered trademarks and/or slogans referencing drugs, alcohol, speeding or other illegal road activities.
One noted trend on the list was wolf-related plates; “WOLFIE,” “AWOOOO,” “AROOO,” and “ARWOOO,” were all tested–the latter three perhaps submitted by the same person in an effort to compromise with the crown insurer.
A few quirky Subaru owners also made the list, with their attempts at “BLUEBARU,” “BLUSUBI,” AND “SUBAWOO” plates.
Other notable rejects were:
- BONDVLN
- YOMAMA
- 2BAD 4U
- WROONG
- NO CO2
- GAS LOL
- ILL SUE
- IM LATE
- BREXIT
- WE VAPE
- MANIAC
- STONKS
- GOT GPS
- RUH ROH
- WATTUP
Plates that somehow did meet approvals under ICBC’s personalized plate rules include:
- WIFE N2
- NOT BMW
- YEEZUS
- BAD D4D
- KIBBLE
- PRRRRR
- NO LIFE
- WANTED
