Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – The Collision Repair Education Foundation (CREF) raised $100,000 for students and schools at the foundation’s recent 20th annual golf fundraiser.
The sold-out event was held at the Edgewood Country Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and co-hosted by PPG Automotive Finishes. Almost 150 sponsors and industry supports attended the event to raise money for collision repair students and programs across the country, including AkzoNobel, Allstate, CAPA, Enterprise, Herz, Mopar, Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, PartsTrader, Subaru Certified Collision, asTech, BASF, Chief Automotive, Polyvance and more.
“It’s not often we get a chance to bring together industry professionals from all over the country in an effort to collectively address our largest resource challenge: a qualified, well-trained staff for our businesses,” says Tom Wolf, director of business development for automotive refinishing for PPG.
“It’s wonderful to see the industry come together to support the great work CREF does.”
Contests held during the event include Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Straightest Drive, Helicopter Ball Drop, and a general best team score.
“Funds raised from this event allow CREF to continue supporting high school and college collision programs, students, and instructors across the country,” says CREF Managing Director Brandon Eckenrode.
“We look forward to gathering everyone again in 2023 when the summer industry meetings take us to Indianapolis!”
Wolf encourages those in the industry to participate in the event next year. Wolf states that support can help the foundation’s efforts “by attending or donating items for the raffle table and silent auction.”
“Because of your efforts, we are making an impact on the resources of the future,” says Wolf.
