Hamilton, Ontario — The LC Group, a CARSTAR multi-store owned team based in Hamilton, Ont. has been collecting donations for its local food bank amid the pandemic.
Between Mar. 27 and Apr. 3, the LC Group was collecting non-perishable donations for the Good Shepherd Food Bank in Hamilton.
The local food bank has been offering packed meals to the local community amid the pandemic.
Food banks across the country are struggling to meet demand amid the pandemic scramble. The facilities are listed as essential services from coast to coast, but restrictions limit the number of volunteers allowed to work in the facility on a given shift.
Last Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $100-million to meet urgent food needs across the country, including in Northern and Indigenous communities, with funding that will go to food banks and other charities.
