Thunder Bay, Ontario — February 15, 2017 — Fix Auto Thunder Bay South has achieved I-CAR Gold Class. For a bodyshop to qualify, it must have a minimum of one I-CAR Platinum Individual as a Role Representative in each of the following four roles: Refinish Technician, Steel Structural Technician, Non-Structural Technician and Estimator.
Fix Auto Thunder Bay South is owned and operated by Roy Pelletier. He’s very proud of his staff’s accomplishments in taking the training needed to qualify as Role Representatives.
“The buy-in from the staff has been incredible,” Pelletier says. “Everyone on our team is committed to continuing their education in the collision repair field, and they have a genuine sense of pride being I-CAR Platinum technicians.”
Pelletier says one of the challenges his facility faced was that most of the technicians were not equipped to participate in online training at home. Pelletier’s solution? He built an in-house training centre, complete with a 55-inch screen. This allowed technicians to take the training on shop time in a comfortable environment, and have access to other staff for support when necessary.
“As a shop owner, customer service is paramount, and that begins with customer safety. I sleep better knowing my technicians have the most up-to-date training and tools available to perform high quality repairs,” Pelletier says.
