Toronto, Ontario — One of the North American auto industry’s most influential voices has a new home, as Frank Terlep’s Auto Techcelerators has now come under the ownership of Opus IVS, following an acquisition deal.
This deal will see the convergence of Terlep’s line of popular CoPilot ADAS products with Opus’ numerous diagnostic scanning tools and services.
No doubt a significant get for Opus IVS, Terlep recently returned from this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas where he received star treatment on par with some of our industry’s top builders and painters.
At SEMA 2022 Terlep was inducted into the Hall of Eagles, the collision industry’s Hall of Fame; received a SEMA Best New Product Award in the category of collision repair and refinish; was given a Chairperson’s Award for co-chairing the CIECA Emerging Technologies Committee; and was named chairman of the Collision Industry Conference (CIC).
With Auto Techcelerators, Terlep helped to develop the ADAS CoPilot, Calibration CoPilot and Test Drive CoPilot suite of products.
“The trifecta of CoPilot offerings is growing fast and combining with Opus IVS gives us the scale necessary to serve our customers better. We couldn’t have asked for a better partnership to carry out our vision” said Terlep.
Opus IVS CEO, Brian Herron said in a press release that the company is excited to welcome aboard a team that has been so gifted with mentorship and vision from an industry fixture like Terlep.
“Frank has distilled 40 years of industry knowledge into a high-value software suite that is seeing rapid adoption in the ADAS services and calibration industry. We congratulate him on his rapid growth and welcome the entire Auto Techcelerators team to the Opus IVS family where we look forward to achieving Frank’s vision with the full support and resources of Opus IVS,” said Herron.
While Opus IVS will continue to offer Auto Techcelerator’s products to the market, it also plans to merge multiple Opus IVS products with the CoPilot suite to deliver what the company says will be “the industry’s most complete and integrated end-to-end ADAS, calibration and validation solution.”
Given the timing of Opus’ acquisition of Auto Techcelerators, the former was also honoured with a best new product award at SEMA for the Test Drive CoPilot.
