Ottawa, Ontario — November 21, 2016 — Ottawa Fire Services was called to an autobody shop on Leitrim Rd. early on Sunday morning after a passerby noticed smoke emerging from a house attached to Leitrim Body Shop. The facility is located in the Gloucester area of Ottawa.

The fire was reported around 12:30 a.m. Fire crews were on the scene until around 7 a.m. to make sure the flames were completely out.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported. It’s unknown at this point if any of the vehicles at the facility were damaged as a result of the fire.

The total damage from the fire is still being determined. However, it appears to be extensive. The structural integrity of the building was damaged to the point where the first floor fell into the basement, making the building difficult to access.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is still under investigation, according to Ottawa Fire Services.
