Hoffman Estates, Illinois — November 24, 2014 — I-CAR has announced 51 collision repair instruction sheets recently released by Ford for the launch of its F-150 are now available on I-CAR’s Repairability Technical Support (RTS) Portal.
The information was provided directly to I-CAR from Ford, making the manufacturer the first to release comprehensive instruction sheets of this scale to the collision repair industry through the RTS Portal.
“As we speak the new, aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 is coming off the assembly line. It is important for collision repair professionals to have the information readily available to repair this popular vehicle made with new materials,†says Jason Bartanen, Director of Industry Technical Relations for I-CAR. “Working with Ford to provide this information via the RTS Portal improves industry access to the information required to support complete, safe and quality repairs.“
The 2015 Ford F-150 collision repair instruction sheets provide important detailed instructions for jobs including parts removal and installation procedures for front rail (apron tube) installation, pillars and rocker panel installation, and roof and roof rail installation.
For more detailed information on the Ford F-150, I-CAR is now offering a six-credit-hour 2015 Ford F-150 Structural Repair course. The instructor-led course covers material-specific training that highlights the unique processes associated with aluminum repair of Ford’s F-150.
I-CAR also offers an Aluminum Welding and Training Certification program, helping to prepare welding technicians and repair facilities for the welding requirements of Ford’s new pickup.
