Toronto, Ontario — September 5, 2019 — This month, two provincial auto recycling associations will host major events– Quebec’s Association of Auto Parts Recyclers (ARPAC) and the Alberta Automotive Dismantler’s and Recyclers (AARDA).
On September 12, ARPAC members will gather at Pièces d’Auto Usagées Lemieux in Saint-Jérôme, just outside of Montreal, for their annual Congress, which is open to all ARPAC members.
On September 20-22, AARDA will hold its annual convention inside the West Edmondon Mall, in Edmonton. The event will also serve as the staging ground for a meeting of the Auto Recyclers of Canada’s annual board of directors meeting.
Saturday Night will feature a live and silent Auction. Proceeds to go to the Jack Cohen Award, named for one of the original members of AARDA. It provides scholarships for auto repair technicians and apprentices who plan to pursue a full-time post secondary program in an accredited college, university or school providing trade, business or technical programs, or enroll in a recognized apprentice or training program. A parent or guardian of the applicant must be a current employee of a direct member of the Alberta Automotive Recyclers And Dismantlers Association (AARDA) with a hire date at least one year prior to April 30 of the application year. Children of owners or those owning stock in the business are ineligible.
