Vancouver, British Columbia — Details surrounding ICBC’s gas relief rebate have finally been unveiled, as the government insurer plans to dole out $165 to any customer who held a basic insurance policy during February 2022.
This news follows B.C. Premier John Horgan’s initial March announcement that the government would be sending out one-time cheques of $110 to help relieve some pressure drivers are facing at the pumps.
With the added rate of $165 per commercial customer, the rebate is expected to cost ICBC $395 million in total.
The distribution of rebate cheques will vary based on how and when you paid for your policy.
Customers who have direct deposit set up on their account will simply have the money dropped into their account over the coming days, according to ICBC’s Wednesday update.
Those who pay through credit card will receive a refund in the coming weeks. Those who pay with debit, cash, cheque or are on a payment plan will be mailed a physical rebate cheque starting in June until the end of July.

As usual false promises for a little bit of money that will do nothing towards the price of gas especially when we are the highest in Canada. The carbon tax should have been withdrawn as Alberta did leaving their gas in the $1.50 plus range
