Las Vegas, Nevada — October 24, 2016 — Sherwin-Williams is commemorating a milestone year at the 2016 SEMA Show. The company, founded in 1866, celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.
A number of Battle of the Builders vehicles will be on display at Sherwin-Williams’ SEMA booth, #10631 in the North Hall. The custom cars were built and painted by Brown’s Classic Autos using an array of Sherwin-Williams’ products. The official car reveal will take place on November 1 at 2 p.m.
“Concealed” started life as a 1965 Mustang Fastback. After a complete custom build, “Concealed” now features the first ever Roush Yates Built NASCAR Engine in a street car. The engine will produce 850 hp at 9,000 rpm. This car will compete in Battle of the Builders, and frankly we can’t wait to see it going roaring down the streets of Las Vegas at SEMA Ignited, the custom celebration open to the public. “Concealed” will also compete for the title of Muscle Machine of the year in 2017.
Sherwin-Williams’ coatings used include HDR22 – High Build Polyester Primer Surfacer, NP75/NP74W ULTRA-FILL HS Direct-To-Metal Isocyanate (ISO)-Free Primer, P30 – SpectraPrime Color Primer Surfacer, Ultra 7000 Premium Basecoat and 1100727 -2.1 VOC Matte Clearcoat.
The concept underlying the design of “Khaos” was to build a hot rod with sports car driving characteristics. It’s an impressive goal for a vehicle that started out as a 1934 Ford Pickup. “Khaos” is powered by a 620 hp LSX454 and features a custom built frame, bed and hood. In addition, the lower half of the cab was built from scratch. “Khaos” will also compete in Battle of The Builders and in Early Truck of the Year at Goodguys 2017.

Representatives from Sherwin-Williams will also be on hand throughout the 2016 SEMA Show to discuss the company’s products. A special focus will be placed on the company’s upcoming CC200 Dynamic Clearcoat, launching later this year. According to Sherwin-Williams, CC200 isn’t just a new product, but an entirely new category in premium clearcoats. The company calls the category “Glamour with Speed.” A statement from Sherwin-Williams says CC200 offers superior appearance in half the time of a typical glamour clearcoat.
