Markham, Ontario — August 16, 2016 — Discount Car and Truck Rentals continued what has become a long tradition earlier this month, hosting its 25th annual charity golf tournament at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ont.
Insurance, collision repair, corporate partners and auto manufacturer professionals representing organizations from across the country were on hand at the milestone anniversary of the tournament, helping to raise over $8,000 for the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund.
Speaking to Collision Repair magazine, Adam Ceifets, Director, National Insurance Sales with Discount, said he was blown away by the continued support of the industry, noting this latest tournament was right up there with the best the organization had held to date.
“Hosting this charity golf tournament is something that everyone at Discount Car and Truck Rentals is incredibly passionate about. The Chase McEachern Tribute Fund is something that is very close to our hearts and to see all of our sponsors and industry partners out in full force to support us once again is just so overwhelming,” Ceifets said. “Everyone talks about this being an industry that gives and gives and I think we’ve all seen first hand the results of that today.”
The money raised will go some way to helping the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund fulfill its chief objective. Established following the untimely death of the 11-year old aforementioned Barrie native back in February 2006, the Fund’s mission is to carry out “Chase’s vision” of ensuring all schools and hockey arenas throughout the country have access to an automated external defibrillator (AED). To date, the organization has placed more than 700 AEDs in locations across Simcoe County and has directly contributed to saving over 80 lives in Ontario.
“It’s a wonderful cause,” Ceifets said. “Anytime you can do something or provide something that could potentially help save a life one day, you don’t even have to think about it. You just do it. We’re incredibly proud to support the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund and we’re looking forward to doing so for years to come.”
