Deflated Pride: Airbag problem has Toyota recall half-a-million vehicles

The Canadian vehicles being recalled include the 2016 Lexus RX, Prius and both the 2015 and 2016 Lexus NX models.
Toronto, Ontario — February 2, 2018 — Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota has announced a recall of more than half-a-million vehicles, including about 4,500 Canadian cars, in order to fix a problem preventing airbags from triggering in some crashes.
 
The Canadian vehicles being recalled include the 2016 Lexus RX, Prius and both the 2015 and 2016 Lexus NX models. Outside of Canada, the manufacturer is also recalling the 2015 and 2016 Alphard, Vellfire, Voxy, Esquire, Probox, Sienta, Corolla, Highlander, Hilux and Levin models.
 
Due faulty electrical circuit system, it is possible for the airbag warning light to prevent the airbags from deploying. Toyota plans to notify vehicle owners of the recall later in the quarter.
