Calgary, Alberta — July 25, 2016 — For the last four years, CSN Collision Centres has participated in Make-A-Wish Canada’s Rope for Hope events. The mission of Make-A-Wish Canada is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. This year, CSN participated as a National Rope Sponsor.
Make-A-Wish Canada’s Rope for Hope events take place in a number of cities across Canada.
The Calgary event saw representatives of two CSN facilities take up the challenge and rappel down the side of Calgary’s Barclay Centre: CSN-Lou’s and CSN-Telkor.
Steven Dupont of CSN-Lou’s raised a total of $12,250 for the event. Dupont fundraised $6,125, which he then matched dollar for dollar. Dupont was able to grant a child their wish with his spectacular efforts and generous donation. This accomplishment placed Dupont in both the “Top Teams,” as well as “Top Fundraisers” for Rope for Hope.
“With our struggling economy and so many generous donations to the Fort McMurray fires, we felt the extra push behind our fund raising for Make-A-Wish could help,” Dupont says. “Rapelling was both intense and frightening, but I will absolutely be doing it again next year!”
CSN-Telkor entered a three-person team to participate in this year’s event in Calgary. Owner, Kristin Rankin, her sister-in-law Chantelle O’Brien, and Customer Service Representative Anna Rose Anderson all rappelled during the event, raising $6,605 for the Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope event.
In total, the Calgary event raised over $178,000 for the charity. The Rope for Hope events across Canada are on track to raise over $1.4 million this year, with dates in 10 cities across the country.
