Mississauga, Ontario — April 4, 2016 — CSN Collision Centres and Make-A-Wish Canada have announced that CSN Collision Centres will support Make-A-Wish Rope for Hope as a Rope Sponsor in four cities this year. The annual Rope for Hope is Make-A-Wish Canada’s national signature fundraising event. This year’s fundraiser is presented by Canadian Western Bank.
Rope for Hope is an exhilarating event where individuals raise a minimum of $1,500 for local wish-granting efforts. In exchange, they get to rappel down a city skyscraper. Past events in Toronto have offered participants the chance to rappel down City Hall. The events are open to the general public and those interested are encouraged to sign up at ropeforhope.ca. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
“CSN is an outstanding partner and supporter of our mission,” says Jennifer Klotz-Ritter, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Canada. “Over the past five years, the company has raised more than $100,000 to help grant magical wishes for our wish kids. We’re delighted that the team at CSN is growing their support to serve more children living with life-threatening medical conditions and impacting communities across the country.”
In 2015, CSN’s support helped to grant the wishes of two wish kids and their families. First was Chase, 4, who suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and wished to go on a big plane for a family vacation to Florida. Mikayla, also age 4, has stage 3/4 neuroblastoma and wished to meet her favourite princesses at a magical theme park in Orlando.
“CSN is pleased to provide further support to our growing partnership with Make-A-Wish by participating in Rope for Hope events in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Halifax in 2016,” says Larry French, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing for CSN Collision Centres. “The excitement that is generated at these events has been contagious throughout our network of CSN Collision Centres across Canada, and we look forward to sharing the enjoyment with as many wish children as possible throughout the remainder of the year.”
CSN corporate staff and shops, including CSN–Jones’ Auto Body, CSN–Carleton Place and CSN–Telkor Collision will also participate in the event, raising funds and rappelling from great heights in support of making wishes come true.
Make-A-Wish Canada hopes to raise $1.4 million in 2016 through Rope for Hope events, adding to the over $2.5 million that has been raised since its launch in 2012.
