Kentville, Nova Scotia — February 21, 2017 — CSN-North’s Autobody Collision Centre is now officially a Honda ProFirst recognized collision facility. The shop is located in Kentville, Nova Scotia, and has been serving the local community for 41 years.
Owner/Operator Fred North notes that the recognition came in part because of new ownership at the facility’s sponsoring dealership, Kings County Honda.
“We actually applied a couple of years ago, but the dealer principal wasn’t really interested in the collision business,” says North. “He sold the company, and the new dealer principal seems to be much more interested in making sure that there’s a local facility that can meet his customers’ needs.”
The new recognition required some training and one item of new equipment.
“We needed to buy a new resistance spot welder, and we elected to go with the offering from Chief,” says North. “To qualify, at least one of your techs has to have the I-CAR Honda course. We’ve done that part, and our other technicians will take the training soon.”
Being part of an OEM program is an honour, but this is not entirely new for CSN-North’s Autobody. The facility is already part of the Toyota Certified Collision Centre program.
“We’ve had that one for about a year-and-a-half, through Kentville Toyota,” says North.
