Toronto, Ontario — August 19, 2019 — Cox Automotive Canada may simplify the process of estimating vehicles.
Auto repair technology firm Cox Automotive Canada, which specializes in tools to bridge the gap between consumers, manufacturers, dealers and lenders, is making some big claims about an upcoming app–PAVE.
According to Cox, its upcoming AI-powered vehicle inspection software will assess damage to vehicles using cell phone photos. The company also says the tool has the potential to save the aftermarket more than $2 billion in yearly employee and third-party estimation labour costs.
Developed in collaboration with Discovery Loft, PAVE aims to significantly reduce the time it takes for vehicle inspection. Through an app using camera functionality, users will be guided to take several pictures of their vehicle from different angles, giving PAVE an overview of the condition of your vehicle.
After inspection, the program will give the user complete vehicle details from vehicle grade to a list of each damaged item, the severity of the damage, and a repair type recommendation.
Cox predicts that PAVE will be integrated into the workflow of industry professionals, but said it could still be used all the way down to the personal level. It also sees the software being an asset in dealer-to-dealer auctions, trade-ins, rentals, and car shares.
