Secaucus, New Jersey — The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) has decided to reschedule the NORTHEAST 2020 Automotive Services Show amid growing Coronavirus concerns in the area.
The organization issued a release on Monday, announcing it had made the decision amid growing concerns throughout the tri-state area. The show—originally scheduled to run Mar. 20-23 in Secaucus, N.J.—will be rescheduled for August 2020.
“We are truly sorry to have had to make this decision, but our top priority remains the safety of our attendees, exhibitors and supporters and based on these concerns as well as increasing feedback from our industry’s constituents, we trust that you will understand the need to reschedule,” reads the release.
On Monday, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency to “contain the spread of COVID-19.” At the time of publication, New Jersey has 11 confirmed Coronavirus cases, though it expects more to arise. The entire tri-state area has 156 confirmed cases of the virus.
NORTHEAST 2020 will now take place from August 21 through August 23, at the Meadowlands Exposition Centre in Secaucus, N.J.—the same location it was originally planned for.
