Edmonton, Alberta — July 17, 2016 — Constant advances in automotive technology and repair techniques makes having up-to-date equipment more important than ever before.
The Color Compass training centre in Edmonton recently held an equipment information session to provide repairers with the latest information. The event was hosted by Carlson Body Shop Supply, Chase Auto Body Supplies and Rocky Mountain Sales.
Key manufacturers and representatives in attendance included Pro Spot, BETAG Innovations, Matrix Wand, Wedge Clamp, Ammco Lifts, Caruk & Associates and CPS Products. The primary focus of the show was to present all of the products and equipment a modern collision repair facility would need to meet OEM standards and repair the latest vehicle materials.
The event featured hands-on demonstrations of the equipment. Part of the demonstrations highlighted how repair professionals could get the most out of their investment by increasing technician efficiency. In turn, this ultimately increases the overall production of the collision shop.
There was strong attendance from industry stakeholders and facility owners from throughout the Northern Alberta region.
Gus Borelli and Terry Richter are co-owners of CSN-Premier Collision in Edmonton. They found value in attending the show.
“We came to the show interested in purchasing some new repair equipment. What we found at the show was quite valuable both in terms of selection and knowledge,” Richter says. “The manufacturer reps that were on hand were extremely helpful in guiding us to the right equipment to meet our needs.”
The event also highlighted the need for more regular, specialized training for technicians to perform safe and effective repairs to late-model vehicles.
