Hamilton, Ontario — August 20, 2015 — Collision Industry Information Assistance (CIIA) has now scheduled two additional classes to help unlicensed techs successfully complete the Ontario trades license exam for Autobody and Collision Repair. CIIA has added the additional courses due to demand.
“The impact of trades license enforcement by the Ontario College of Trades and the fact that most of the exam challengers failed the trades exam on their first try has generated a significant interest in the courses,” says John Norris, Executive Director of CIIA. “I would urge techs to seriously consider this course if they have worked the hours but lack formal instruction, have never finished apprenticeship, have previously failed the exam, or could simply use some preparation.”
Certificate of Qualification preparation industry courses are offered in:
Hamilton Starting Tuesday Sept 15th and Thursday Sept 17th, every Tuesday and Thursday (nine evenings)
Toronto Starting Monday Oct 5 and Wednesday Oct 7, every Monday and Wednesday (nine evenings)
The course cost is $1000 plus HST for non-members and $800 plus HST for members of CIIA. According to CIIA, most employers who have employees attending class are eligible for a 2/3rds training fee rebate from government.
To register, obtain information or receive a no charge Technician Equivalency package to help those that have the necessary hours of work experience, but no formal apprentice training, please contact 1-866-309-4272 or info@ciia.com.
