Hagerty will succeed Gary Danowski, current vice president of global automotive refinish coatings and will report to Tim Knavish, PPG executive vice president.

“Gary has been the embodiment of a PPG leader throughout his 38-year career—a true team player who rose to any challenge,” said Michael H. We thank Gary for his many years of tremendous service.”

According to PPG, Hagerty began his 24-year career with PPG in 1996 at the company’s former chemical plant in West Virginia and, in 1998 assumed a plant-engineering role at the industrial coatings facility in Springdale, Pennsylvania. He moved into sales for industrial coatings in 2001 and has since held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in both the industrial and automotive OEM coatings business units.

After a successful stint as PPG’s general manager of industrial coatings for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in Rolle, Switzerland, Hagerty returned to his current role in January 2019.

The company also announced Kevin Braun, current vice president of industrial coatings Americas, will take on Hagerty’s position of vice president of global industrial coatings and join the Operating Committee.
