Edmonton, Alberta — September 7, 2017 — The next meeting of the Canadian Collision Industry Forum (CCIF) is set to land in Edmonton in just a few short weeks, and already 275 industry stakeholders have confirmed they will be in attendance. CCIF Edmonton takes place September 29 at the Westin Edmonton.
CCIF Edmonton will kick off with opening remarks from Brigitte Pesant of AIA Canada and CCIF Chairman Joe Carvalho of Economical Insurance. The first scheduled speaker is Annabelle Cormack of Cormack Recruitment, presenting “Employee Retention: You’ve Hired! Now What?” Cormack spoke at the previous CCIF meeting in Fredericton, delivering tactics repairers could adopt to successfully recruit talented and capable individuals. This follow-up presentation focuses on what happens after the hire, as you try to integrate new people into an existing culture.
The next presentation keeps to the theme of human resources, with France Daviault, Senior Director Stakeholder Relations for AIA Canada, discussing key initiatives to addressing the labour gap.
The panel discussions are always one of the most engrossing parts of CCIF. The Edmonton meeting will feature a panel discussion on vehicle technology, moderated by Paul Prochilo of Simplicity Car Care.
Following the panel discussion will be Michael Anderson of Audatex. Anderson’s presentation promises to build on the themes of trends in technology, specifically by examining the ongoing impacts on repair costs.
Andrew Shepherd of AIA Canada will be next to the podium, with “Disruption, Disintermediation and other Strange Words for the Canadian Collision Industry.”
I-CAR Instructor Stephano Liessi will continue to reinforce the technology theme with his presentation “I-CAR New Technology.”
The last presentation of the day will return to the human resources theme, with Patrice Marcil of Axalta Coating Systems updating attendees on the ongoing CCIF Collision Industry-Education Connection project. CCIF Edmonton promises to bring us a fresh perspective on industry-education issues: that of the students themselves.
CCIF Edmonton will also feature a Career Day event, as well as a tour of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) on September 27. Watch collisionrepairmag.com for more information on these events.
