Sudbury, Ontario — September 22, 2015 — Sudbury is home to a new collision repair facility, CARSTAR Sudbury Kingsway. The store is part of a local MSO run by Tony and Gianna Nero.
Sudbury Kingsway is the fourth store for the couple. It joins a thriving chain that includes the existing stores, CARSTAR Sudbury Regent St., CARSTAR Sudbury South and CARSTAR Chelmsford. All four shops are owned and operated by the Nero family.
The facility has been in operation for some time, but the official Grand Opening took place just last week.
“We had a crazy week. We had people up from corporate. We were having meetings. But it’s all good,” says Gianna Nero. “It was beautiful. We had a great turnout from the community. We had brokers, corporate, insurance reps, customers and family. We had the rental agencies. We had dealership people. It was really, really good.”
She went on to say that they “lucked out with the weather … It was a perfect day. The tables were done up with white linen and balloons. It looked like a wedding hall. We had it catered and had a custom made cake. We went all out.”
Over one hundred people showed up for the festivities. In the weeks to come the Neros will continue to staff up the operation. So far they’ve hired about twelve people. But that count will grow. The other stores in the chain have 22 or 23 people in 11,000 sq. ft. shops.
“This one is bigger, 17,000 square feet, so we’ll probably have 24 plus,” says Gianna. She noted it has not been a problem finding employees. Clearly, the company’s good reputation got around and that made it easy to find talent.
“We’re still hiring. We’ve got some good front-end people. And we attracted some of the best body men in town. They’re coming to us,” she says.
The new store completes the current territorial ambitions. “Sudbury is spread out, but we’ve got the four corners of the city now, so that’s good. It’s been a good year. We had really good growth this year,” says Nero.
CARSTAR Sudbury Kingsway will be open Monday to Sunday and for an extensive 63 hours a week.
