Toronto, Ontario — December 21, 2018 —CARSTAR Peterborough is spreading the holiday spirit this year, one puck at a time.
The franchise Bodyshop is sponsoring a game night with the Peterborough Petes on Jan. 12, with all proceeds going towards Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Pucks will be available for attendees to throw out onto the ice, with the closest tosses to the centre being awarded prizes. Each puck purchased will contribute to the charitable efforts. There is also a silent action to help raise additional funds for CF.
“We’re always looking for ways to get more involved in the community, give back to this great city and grow our brand awareness,” said co-owner Cathy Shirtliff.
“As of now we’ve donated over $1,000 towards prizes and tickets for the event. We’re all very happy to be able to support such a great cause.”
After opening CARSTAR Peterborough last April owners Cathy and Jim Shirtliff immediately became involved in the community; sponsoring local soccer and hockey teams, while also donating a refurbished vehicle to Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada last holiday season.
The facility, which now staff’s 11 employees, has quickly become a popular collision repair shop in the Peterborough area.
“Business has been great, we’re at full capacity and booking two weeks out,” said Cathy.
The swift success shouldn’t come as a surprise as Cathy and Jim bring over 15 years of franchise owner experience to the table, having owned and operated a CARSTAR location in Markham since 2002.
It wasn’t until Cathy and Jim moved to Peterborough that they began to consider a second location.
“We moved here eight years ago to raise a family and were commuting to Markham every day,” said Cathy.
“Having such a great team of staff at both locations has turned this vision of working closer to home into a reality,” said Cathy.
Moving forward both owners hope to continue to stay involved in charitable efforts, while also educating consumers on the benefits CARSTAR has to offer.
“Customers who come to CARSTAR are gaining access to a nationwide warranty that covers repairs at all CARSTAR locations across Canada. In addition CARSTAR is a direct repairer for most insurance companies,” said Cathy.
“We are excited to continue to grow both our locations and remain actively involved in making a difference in the community.”
