Ottawa, Ontario — March 13, 2017 — CARSTAR recently hosted its 3rd Annual Premier event at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. The event helped to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, a national charitable not-for-profit corporation committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF).
This event was attended by CARSTAR’s area franchisees and about 50 of the company’s industry and vendor partners. The evening started with a reception hour, followed by a presentation from Max McGuire of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. McGuire spoke the effect CF has had on his life, and the movie he directed, “Foreverland.” The movie tells the story of a young man with cystic fibrosis who goes in search of a legendary healing shrine in Mexico, accompanied by the sister of a fallen friend.
Guests were then treated to a visit from Chris Phillips, the longest serving playing in Ottawa Senators’ history, to talk about his 18-year career with the team and pose for photographs and provide autographs.
The evening then moved to a private suite for dinner and to take in the Ottawa Senators game vs the Colorado Avalanche.
“Capping off a great evening, the Sens won 2-to-1! A great time was had by all, and with the generous support from our vendor partners we were able to raise a significant amount of money to donate to Cystic Fibrosis,” says Collin Welsh, Regional Development Manager, GTA and Eastern Ontario for CARSTAR Canada.
