Toronto, Ontario – September 13th 2018 – CARSTAR president Michael Macaluso and director of marketing Hannah Ross received some unexpected mail this week.
Mayor Vi Lyles of North Carolina, and Mayor Fred Eisenberger of Hamilton Ontario, both sent out a letter of recognition, congratulations and praise addressed to all CARSTAR employees, vendors, and insurance leaders for their tremendous effort in an ongoing and annual fundraiser for those living with cystic fibrosis.
The CARSTAR teams both in Canada and the U.S. had a 2018 goal to raise $375,000 by the end of the year. However at the CARSTAR North American annual meeting, the company managed to raise an astounding $230,000 alone.
This number has since more than doubled, with the goal of $370,000 being long surpassed and the amount now sitting at $470,000.
With several more events lined up for 2018, the CARSTAR team seems fated to breach a half a million dollars, with all proceeds going towards research, care, and advocacy for the genetic disorder.
“It is an honor to be recognized by Mayor Lyles and Mayor Eisenberger for our efforts to support cystic fibrosis, an honor that is truly shared with our franchise partners, vendors and insurance carriers,” said Michael Macaluso, president of CARSTAR.
“What began as an initiative to support a franchise partner’s grandchild with cystic fibrosis has become a North American platform through which we can help thousands of families through research, care and advocacy.”
