CARSTAR announces two new locations in Ottawa

CARSTAR Ottawa East (Surgenor) is located at one of Ottawa’s largest dealerships, the Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Limited Dealership at 939 St. Laurent Blvd.

 

With 14,000 sq.ft. of production space, the centre works with high efficiency servicing 100 cars a week, complete with two new Termomeccanica full waterborne spray booths and a custom full downdraft prep deck. In addition to auto collision repair, paintless dent repair and glass repair and replacement, the centre offers full mechanical service.

 

Owners Pat McGurn and Michael McGurn continue to build on the success of a business that has proudly served Ottawa since 1972. With such a long-standing position in the community, CARSTAR Ottawa East (Surgenor) has built a reputation on goodwill and excellent customer service.

 

“When we decided we wanted to be a part of a collision network, it was clear to us that CARSTAR offered more than the others,” says Kevin Jamieson, the centre’s manager. “CARSTAR has built a prominent brand and position in the industry, as well as many strong relationships.” 

 

Managing a team of 19, Jamieson has 36 years of experience in the automotive industry, 20 of which have been in a management role.

 

A statement from CARSTAR says that CARSTAR Ottawa East (Surgenor)’s community involvement make them a perfect fit with the CARSTAR values, as they lead the city’s automotive dealers in supporting the United Way in Ottawa. 

 

“We support the United Way because they support many local organizations and affect so many members of the community,” says Jamieson.

 

CARSTAR Ottawa South East (Hunt Club) is a 16,000 sq.ft. collision centre located at 3820 Leitrim Rd. With a large production space and a team of 14 employees, the centre can accommodate upwards of 18 cars at once.

 

Owners Carl Sytema and Paul Sytema are enthusiastic about joining the CARSTAR banner. The centre’s Manager Frank McGachy has 28 years of experience in the automotive collision industry. 

 

“We are proud to have a great reputation in the city for top quality collision repair,” says McGachy. “Going forward with CARSTAR we would like to keep quality top-of-mind while increasing our year-round production.” 

 

He points out that one of the reasons for joining CARSTAR was the advantage of strong operational support.

In the Ottawa community, the primary cause that CARSTAR South East (Hunt Club) supports is Light the Night, a walk to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. “This is important to our team, since our general sales manager is a survivor of leukemia and spokesperson for the not-for-profit,” says McGachy. 

 

This year also marks the centre’s 19 year anniversary of operating in the capital region.
