Toronto, Ontario — On November 16, Hyundai announced that starting in 2024, customers in the U.S. can order cars via Amazon.
Starting early next year, auto dealers will have the opportunity to sell vehicles in Amazon’s U.S. store and Hyundai will be the first brand available to purchase.
This option will eliminate the possibility of test-driving ordered vehicles, but will offer increased accessibility, the automaker hopes.
Customers on Amazon will be able to search for vehicles in their area, choose their preferred model and then check out online with their chosen payment and financing options—just like the process done with other Amazon products.
The ordered vehicle will then be available later on for pickup or delivery from a local dealership.
While not yet available for Canadian customers, Amazon and Hyundai have not eliminated the possibility of future service expansion in the U.S. trial of the service is successful
