La Baie, Quebec — August 4, 2014 — Carrossier ProColor La Baie recently hosted a training session on repairs to aluminum-bodied vehicles, such as the new 2015 Ford F-150.
The training session aimed to explain the procedures for the repair of aluminum-bodied vehicles, such as the 2015 Ford F-150, which will pose new challenges for collision repair centres. The training was attended by staff from 15 participating collision repair facilities, all located in the greater region of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.
“We even invited our competitors,†says Jean-Claude Morin, owner of Carrossier ProColor La Baie. “We needed a minimum number of participants; otherwise the trainers would not come. That would mean going elsewhere for training, in Montreal for example, which is far from easy for our employees.â€
The training was provided by I-CAR Canada. It was a theoretical lesson of four hours in length. An eight-hour practical training session will be offered this fall. Morin said that the new F-150 will be released at the same time.
“We must be ready. If we do not get the required certification to repair this type of alloy on time, we will not be able to do it,†says Morin.”It is imperative that we remain at the forefront of technology.â€
