Toronto, Ontario – June 6, 2019 – Close to 500 collision repairers and industry came together in Quebec City for Carrossier ProColor’s 18th annual conference in April. Held at the Hilton Quebec, the event allowed attendees to visit the networks recommended suppliers’ kiosks and network with industry peers.
“In addition to the pleasure of meeting delegates and having them with us, their presence was an encouragement and a real reward. Nearly 500 of them attended this event, which is so important to us, and their enthusiasm has made this conference a success that has exceeded our expectations,” said vice president of sales for Uni-Select Michel Charbonneau.
The second day was dedicated to conferences, as the network’s management presented updates of the organization and its main orientations.
Three keynote presentations also occurred covering different aspects of the industry.
PPG regional director Gino Gauthier presented the company’s new mobile application and AkzoNobel Canada East consultant service spoke about the eight keys for bodyshop management. Author and international instructor Carol Allian presented with great humour a lesson on “La motivation humaine une attitude!” which translates to “Human motivation is an attitude!”
The event didn’t just involve industry discussions, it also shared the support of the Children’s Wish Foundation.
The Carrossier ProColor network along with its supplier partners, PPG and Uniparts O.E.M., decided to get involved with the King Jay campaign, supported by the Children’s Wish Foundation, which commemorates Jayden, a young man who died of cancer in 2017. Jayden was the 25,000th wish of the Children’s Wish Foundation and his wish was to offer another 25,000 wishes through the sale of clothes bearing his name. The delegates received a King Jay t-shirt as a welcoming present and they immortalized this magical moment with a photo group.
As the day went into the night, attendees dressed their best for the gala. Throughout the evening, the new Operational Excellence Award was given to two bodyshops, collision centres with a volume of less than 1.5 million and collision centres with a volume of more than 1.5 million. Three winners were assigned in each category for the gold, silver and bronze trophy.
The gala continued with the traditional fundraising activity for the charities supported by the network, of which the Children’s Wish Foundation is one of the main causes. The network raised a record of $103,600.
Besides the Childrens Wish Foundation, a new cause was added this year in loving memory of Johanne Blain, who has worked in the industry for many years and recently passed away. “The Carrossier ProColor network wishes to offer a sum of money to Maison Adhémar-Dion to thank the staff for their good care and encourage them to continue their good work,” said vice president of sales of Uni-Select Canada Michel Charbonneau.
