Olds, Alberta — A family in Olds, Alberta is using their truck to help spread holiday cheer across the province by bringing Christmas songs and community connection to neighbours in what has since become a post-pandemic tradition.
Sam and Walter Mobis drive their “Caroling Christmas truck” to small towns in their Southern Alberta region. The truck earned its name from its festive decorations–and the fact it consistently plays classic Christmas songs in every area it visits.
For the Mobis family, the truck is a way for them to spread holiday joy to their community. The truck has reportedly been a big hit since the pandemic when people were unable to visit other attractions or family during the holiday season.
Sam and Walter begin their holiday touring in the middle of November so they can cover the largest area possible.
They concluded that as long as their efforts continue to make people happy, they will continue with what has become a happy holiday tradition.
