Azores, Portugal — A Volkswagen Group executive has confirmed that the company will resume production of some vehicles lost in the sinking in the Felicity Ace, promising their North American customers replacement vehicles of some kind.
After burning for days, the Felicity Ace sank, delivering over $100 million in luxury vehicles to the bottom of the ocean. This shipment largely comprised of cars from Volkswagen Group brands like Porsche, Bentley and Audi.
“We are working to prioritize production capacity to ensure that the orders will be replaced as soon as possible,” said Stephan Winkelman, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “We will try to minimize the impact on customers as much as possible.”
It is still unknown whether a particularly heroic diver has single-handedly rescued the luxury vehicles, or if oceanic deities like Poseidon and Cthulhu have accepted these offerings with open arms.
