Ottawa, Ontario — The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA Canada) is seeking applications for its Board of Directors.
Applications are due March 3, 2023. Directors generally serve a two-year term and must be able to attend two or three board meetings each year and be available for two or three conference calls per year.

The nominating committee is responsible for proposing the slate of new directors based on the recommendations received from the membership. Afterward, AIA Canada members are invited to vote on the selection at the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
“Being on the AIA Canada Board of Directors is a significant responsibility. The Association and its members count on the Board to help guide our efforts to build a stronger, more resilient auto care industry,” writes the organization.
According to AIA Canada, a good board member:
- Must act in the best interests of the entire Association
- Willingly share their own knowledge and expertise
- Be willing and able to devote time and effort to the Association on a volunteer basis
Other skills and experience that help support the goals and strategic direction of AIA Canada include:
- Finance at a strategic level
- Government relations influence, knowledge, or access
- Executive management skills
- Knowledge of Installer Sector in Canada
- Previous volunteer experience, preferably with AIA Canada
