Winnipeg, Manitoba — April 5, 2017 — The Winnipeg-based Boyd Group is expanding in the US again, this time with a facility in Hinesville, Georgia. Hinesville is located on the Atlantic coast about 40 miles southwest of Savannah.
“We are pleased to add this location which adds to our presence in the coastal region of Georgia, between our locations in Savannah and Brunswick, Georgia,” said Tim O’Day, President and COO of the Boyd Group. “We look forward to becoming part of the Hinesville community and are excited to introduce the Gerber brand of professional and friendly service.”
So far 2017 has seen Boyd make seven acquisitions, somewhat behind last year’s pace. However, 2016 marked the second most acquisitions Boyd had ever made in a single year, only exceeded by acquisitions made in 2014.
The company has publicly stated an intent to double in size between 2015 and 2020. In a conference call with shareholders, CEO Brock Bulbuck noted that last year’s results represented “strong progress” towards the company’s goal.
“This is an important milestone. Our acquisition success is also a testament to the ability of our corporate development team to achieve our growth goals by ‘hitting singles and doubles’ thereby completing a greater number of smaller transactions,” said Bulbuck. “We are on pace and on the right track to achieve our goal of doubling our business by 2020.”
Bulbuck also noted during the call that the company has $350 million worth of cash and credit on hand to continue the acquisition streak.
