Winnipeg, Manitoba — July 3, 2017 — The Boyd Group has announced the opening of a collision repair centre in Greensboro, Georgia, about 75 miles (120 km) east of Atlanta. The centre previously operated as Rodfathers Collision Center & Sales. The collision facility will now operate under the Gerber Collision & Glass trade name.
“This location increases our presence in central Georgia and is well-situated in proximity to the busy Interstate 20 and U.S. Route 278 highways,” said Tim O’Day, President and COO of the Boyd Group. “We look forward to serving new customers and our insurance partners in Greensboro and surrounding communities by providing the same professional and friendly service that is the signature of all Gerber locations.”
This acquisition follows the announcement in early June of a brownfield development in St. Augustine, Florida. The facility is the second Gerber location to open in the city.
Boyd Group’s largest acquisition this year, and possibly to date, was the blockbuster deal for Ontario mega-chain Assured Automotive. Boyd announced in late May it would pay $193.6 million for Assured, including $146 million in cash and units in the Boyd Group Income Fund.
